Gold Pro Massage at Community Events in 2026

Reviewed by Registered Massage Therapist Nuchanart (Mew) Kachowski

In 2026, Gold Pro’s RMTs set up free on-site massage at four Strathcona County events: the RCMP charity golf tournament, the Strathcona County Pickleball Association (SCPA) Open, the SCPA Club Tournament, and the Strathcona Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament. At each one, players could sit down for a 10-minute massage between rounds or matches, meet the team, and enter a draw for a 45-minute Thai foot massage.

Strathcona County RCMP Charity Golf Tournament

The Strathcona County RCMP Charity Golf Tournament was held on Friday, July 3, at Legends Golf and Country Club, with about 135 golfers registered. Gold Pro partnered with Strathcona County RCMP for the day in support of A Safe Place, a local shelter for women and children leaving abuse.

Our tent had a massage table and a massage chair, and golfers came by throughout the day. One came straight off the course with his golf glove still on.

This was our second year at the tournament. Last year’s event raised money for Dogs with Wings.

SCPA 2026 Open

The SCPA 2026 Open ran July 24 to 26, with new age and singles categories added this year. RMTs Mew and Bee worked the tent, offering free chair and table massages to players between matches.

The reel below gives a look at the tent and the courts.

It was also our second year at the Open. You can see how the 2025 tournament went.

SCPA Club Tournament

The SCPA Club Tournament took place on September 12 and 13, and Gold Pro set up the massage tent again for both days. RMTs Maple and Risun were on site.

The weekend ran noticeably cooler than July, so blankets went over players on the table.

A 10-minute massage at a tournament won’t change much on its own. What it does is let people meet an RMT, ask a question, and feel what the pressure is actually like.

Strathcona Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament

The 2nd Annual Strathcona Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament took place in late summer at Broadmoor Golf Course, and Gold Pro returned as a hole sponsor. Our tent was set up beside the clubhouse, and our RMTs kept busy with massages through the day.

The tournament raised more than $30,000, well past its $25,000 goal. $20,000 went to the Robin Hood Association, which supports people with developmental disabilities and their families in Strathcona County. More than $10,000 went to the Strathcona Firefighters Charitable Society for local initiatives.

The Robin Hood Association also named the firefighters a Community Champion for raising more than $38,500 through the tournament over its first two years. Congratulations to Dana, who won the draw for a 45-minute Thai foot massage. You can read about our first year at the tournament too.

What a 10-Minute Event Massage Involves

A 10-minute event massage is a short, fully clothed session on a massage chair or table, focused on one or two areas such as the neck, shoulders, back, or legs. It is a quick way to loosen up between rounds and find out what working with an RMT feels like.

Before someone heads back on the course or court, RMTs usually keep the pressure moderate so muscles feel looser without feeling heavy. Deeper work and a proper assessment need more time than a tent allows.

If you play regularly and want more than ten minutes, a full sports massage gives the RMT time to look at how you move and work through more than one area. Our post on when to get a sports massage covers timing around games and training.

Thank You to the Organizers

Thank you to the Strathcona County RCMP and A Safe Place, the Strathcona County Pickleball Association and its volunteers, and the Strathcona Firefighters Charitable Society and the Robin Hood Association. You can follow the firefighters’ charity work on Instagram.

Thank you also to every golfer and player who stopped by the tent. We hope to see you on the course and the courts again next year.
